After countless hours looking at undersink RO units and becoming more confused than ever, I finally decided on this particular unit. I live on a farm in NW Indiana and our water source is well water.I ordered the TDS meter(under $20) along with this unit and tested the water before and after, even testing a $80 counter filter that was 4 years old or so. Well water was running at 400 on an EPA Max allowed number being 500(lower is better). The water coming out of the counter filter was 405, even slightly more than straight well water. After RO installation, water quality improved dramtically. TDS number is now 23 to 25.I can't tell any difference between our RO water and bottled water. We were buying 3 to 4 cases of bottled water about every time we went food shopping, so I expect this RO unit to pay for itself in a year or so. (Nobody likes lugging cases of water up a half flight of stairs all the time. In addition, less garbage to haul out too, helping the waste stream)...
