With so many on offer these days, it is great to have a name you can trust. This item is certainly that and will be a perfect buy. The distributor have added some great touches and this equals great value.

Expensive but worth it!
I upgraded the Miele filter that ships with vacuum to this one. I am really glad that I did. This weekend a guest made a commit that they are usually alergic to dogs- "you must have a really clean house".

Genuine part
This is a genuine Miele filter. It does what is it supposed to do. The charcoal does help reduce pet odors but not eliminate them.
Expensive, but the real deal
This retrofit HEPA filter is so costly that a 3rd- party industry has sprung up (eg the Filtrete), and even Miele itself offers a cheaper version.

However, at this point this seems to be the only real deal, a part which upgrades your vacuum to true HEPA standard. It perfectly fits in my Carina vacuum and seals in with a rubber gasket.

Of all the anti- allergen efforts I made, this was the most immediately measureable: No sneezing when I turn the vacuum on; in fact I find it produces a pleasant sweet-ish (for lack of a better word) scent. Would/will buy again in a heartbeat; price aside this is a 5-star part.
