Water travels through 8 stages of filtration:
First cartridge water flows through a 10" sediment filter cartridge that removes sediment, silt, sand and dirt. Also extends the life of the water filters
Second cartridge water flows through a 6-stage filtration:
In stage 1, water flows through one - micron filter pads (1 micron equals 1/25,000th of an inch), which remove suspended particles such as silt, sediment, cyst (Giardia, Cryptosporidium), sand, rust, dirt, and other un-dissolved matter.
In stage 2, water flows through granulated activated carbon (GAC).
In stage 3, water flows through I ceramic balls, removes harmful bacteria such as E. Coli, Fecal coli form, Salmonella, Streptococcus, and cysts (Cryptosporidium, Giardia) and sediment.
In stages 4 and 5, water flows through a bed of media made of a special high-purity alloy blend of two dissimilar metals - copper and zinc Eagle Redox Alloy® 6500, and Eagle Redox Alloy® 9500.
In stage 6, water flows through another one-micron filtration pad for further reduction of undesirable particles. The end result is a great reduction or the total elimination of a wide variety of contaminants.
Third cartridge water flows through a 10" solid carbon cartridge for removing volatile organic carbon compounds (VOC's, insecticides, pesticides and industrial solvents).

I bought this Crystal Quest 8 stage Triple device and have it connect to my whole house. the device is working fine have not decreased the water pressure at all (something that you need to be careful when selecting a whole-house water purifier.). I'm still confused with the filtering system and what and when I should buy filters. I was also happy with the seller "Up North Sales LLC". The unit was delayed by a few days so they emailed me and gave me credit even though I did not mind! I would shop from them again (next house or filters). *** I noticed that under product description, there's now a good description for the filters but I wished the had included the part numbers!

Water filter ok, but hot water smells
