Fluoride free water
Installation is easy. Takes up a little more space than I would like.
Number one recommendation I have is to run the water until the metal taste is gone. It took a few days to get that out. Now it is wonderful. Highly recommend.

I am very happy with this filter system.
This is the second of these I have bought. It cleans the water and completely improves the taste. I find myself drinking a lot more now that I have better water.

Tasty, leaky water.
This guy leaks. This is my second try with this model, thinking that maybe the first was a fluke. Unfortunately, the second did the exact same thing as the first: started leaking, then spraying water out of a crack that magically appeared in the area of the indicator window.

I do like the filter, the water tastes pretty good and the flow rate is good. It's just the getting sprayed in the face while using it that bothers me. I will be trying one without the indicator window next, which is unfortunate. It's a handy feature.

Simple design
I had to order this on line and pay more than I should, but local stores (100 miles) refuse to carry the product. They are trying to force other similar items on us. This one makes for a one handed operation while the newer versions require switching hands between turning the water on and then turning the filter on.

Water does not taste good
I haven't experienced any leaks and it was easy to install. There is also plenty of water pressure. That's the good. On the downside, the water doesn't really taste very good. The filter in our refrigerator does a better job in terms of taste. I'm going to put a different filter in the housing and see if that helps.

Poor Quality Control
I purchased a Crystal Quest single counter top filter direct from the company. It arrived promptly but the diverter valve was defective. I called and they said they would send me a new valve. The second one didn't work right. Leaked all over the place. Not only that I was charged for the replacement valve on my credit card, without authorizing it. At that point I decided I didn't want anything more to do with the company so I called them and told them I wanted to return the unit. They refunded my money, but they refused to pay the shipping $13.00 Why I should pay shipping for a defective item I really don't get. In addition, upon further research I found that water containing fluoride has to stay in contact with the filter media much longer than it does in this unit in order to do a really good job eliminating the fluoride. The three stage filter product may be better, but the best solution I could find was actually a combination of a reverse osmosis and carbon block filter system...
Great bargain
I bought one identical in appearance by Crystal Quest to this one. I got it because it takes out the fluoride in addition to all the other crap
now found in tap water. Fluoride is poisonous and amounts to forced medication by the powers that be. Why add this highly toxic chemical to our water? It is to
make the population docile and easy to control. People in other countries wonder why Americans are so easy to manipulate. Fluoride in the water, toothpaste,
bottled water, prescription drugs, is why. Fluoride was used in the concentration camps run by Germany during the early 1940's to keep prisoners
content even though they lived in Hellish conditions. After the war it began to be used here in the USA, to protect teeth!
I cannot be 100% certain that this model will remove fluoride. Check it out at their site: [...]

AWESOME - Best Filter Around
This filter has dramatically changed the taste of our water from day 1. We have a private well which is untreated ground water. We run our water through a large and small particle sediment filter at the source/pump room. We also have the UV sanitizer after the main in the house. Previously we only had an additional small particle sediment filter in the home and we had problems with bad smelling ice from the in door ice maker of our fridge. The water also had a mild bitterness to the taste, it was tested and came back free of contaminants, but the taste was still there. We replaced our sediment filter with this Crystal Quest 7 stage whole house filter, and what an AMAZING distance. The ice cubes are crystal clear and free of any foul smell and taste, and the water from the tap has never been better! The filter system did not affect our water pressure, which was our only concern as it has a lower flow rate than many others out there, but again there is no change in our pressure,...

excellent for the cost!
We had a company come to our home and test our water, and try to sell us a 6 thousand dollar water filtration system. Upon doing some research, I decided that this one was worth a shot. From the first day we saw a HUGE difference! You can feel the difference on your hands, in the shower. My dishes and stainless steel sink have way less water spots than before, and the water from the tap tastes great. I highly recommend this system, excellent for such a low price! Also I called crystal quest, and the customer service was very helpful, and they even called back when they said they would!!

Great filter!
I bought this filter to remove fluoride as well as chlorine, and all the other usual suspects in water. It definitely removes the chlorine, but I can't say it removes the fluoride as I don't have a test kit to check on filtered quality. I hope it does.

But it sure looks very attractive as well - has a industrial - almost nuclear looks to it. Not that I got it for its looks: I figured that it would be best to have a stainless steel housing rather than the plastic housing that might potentially leach out contaminates of their own.

I didn't get this filter at Amazon but rather a other retailer online that was both cheaper and had free shipping - though it took a while for me to get it.

Overall is ok.
The filter device i received from this seller has what seem to be the old- style cardridges in the two right most filters, not like the ones that Crystal Quest sells directly from their website. The stainless steel housing is good, top- quality except the leak that existed on the left- most filter housing due to the carbon block filter cardridge being longer than ideal for the container to seal tightly. After trimming the filter and reinstalling it sealed ok.

Bad tasting water/poor customer service
I had issues with this product right out of the box. One filter housing was leaking. I went to tighten it and it was already tight. Upon further inspection I noticed it was screwed on enevenly. I was concerned that once I was able to get it loose that it might be stripped and still leak. I emailed cyrstal quest directly as well as the seller/shipper. No response from either. After 2 days of elbow grease and wd-40 I was able to loosen it, re-screw it on properly, and get the thing working. Unfortunately, this is the worst tasting filtered water I have tasted. I was looking for a more convenient alternative to the gravity fed system I was using. I guess I'll keep looking.

So much better for the environment then buying water
We installed this filter five years ago and have enjoyed the convenience greatly. We use two sets of filters a year and this set of three is a huge savings over store bought prices.

Smart water requires smarts. Read first.
I spoke with a G.E. smart water representative and(#1) I learned that the sediment I was experiencing was due to the fact that the grey filter must be placed on the incoming water side or you will encounter charcoal filtrate.(#2) I would also recommend that you acquire a adjustable rubber strap wrench to loosen the filter housing. The filter is quite effecient in toxic material removal and is surprisingly heavy upon removal on replacement.
Great way to have filtered water for drinking/coffee at the sink
The SmartWater filters work well, water tastes great, and makes a big difference when making coffee, tea and cooking. Suggest changing the filter at least annually and really it's best twice a year, depending on use. Delivered promptly.

It works ...
First the delivery was fast. It came in 5 packages. It includes a large funnel, a control head that is fully assembled with the flow meter and the bypass valve.
I had a plumber to install a three-gate-valves bypass valve so I don't really use the unit's bypass valve.

I read and followed the installation manual that they emailed me. The manual is easy to follow.
Don't forget to apply silicone lubricant at the top lip of the resin tank. I found the silicone lubricant at hardware section in Home Depot store.

I enjoy the final result: clean soft water for my home.

Easy DIY system
I did a significant amount of research before finally settling on this system. We have a well drilling company in our area that has a reputation for selling water treatment systems that perform at a very high level. When I called them to find out what they had for under the counter RO systems this is what they had. They were asking $550. I found it here on Amazon for $330. Way to go Amazon community! I don't know the details but Microline is actually one of the largest manufacturers of RO systems. What they do is sell their systems to several other companies that then put their names on the Microline system.

When comparing prices it's important to know that this system includes a replacement set of each of the filters excluding the RO membrane. That's close to a $100 value. Most other systems don't have replacement filters included in the price.

Work perfect and easy to install/remove
I found this very easy to attach and remove, which I do a lot due to using a portable washer that shares the sink connection.
I've read of people having issues with the plastic threaded connection but no problems here. Maybe it's been resolved by Brita in newer shipments.

Very easy to use, and does a really good job taking that chlorine and impure taste out of the tap water. I can't tell the difference between the filtered water and bottled. The color indicator telling you when the filter's nearing replacement time is appreciated as well.

Opposite Experience
We have had this filter on the tap at our office for 5 years. We have replaced the filter (top part)maybe 10 times; it has an indicator light that turns red when it is time to change.

It is a much better option than filling the Brita pitcher. No more going to the fridge and finding that the last person who poured a glass of water out of the pitcher didn't fill it again!

Got a wrong product
I got the wrong product, ended up keeping it though.. Mounted fine to the sink. Worked OK for about 9 months now. The only thing I don't like is that the green/red "filter change indicator" does not work. I know for fact this defect present on all of the filtration systems of that kind.
Don't waste your money
You will be lucky indeed if this product lasts a year before either it starts leaking or the aereater breaks off. I made a big mistake when I thought I would save money by buying a multi pack of replacement filters. I've ended up purchasing two additional faucet mounts just to use up the filters. On the positive side, Customer Service is very cooperative about sending replacement parts when it breaks in less than a year.
